Anglo American plc announces that the USD notes issued by Anglo American Capital plc guaranteed by Anglo American plc listed below were issued on 8 April 2009 and have been admitted to listing on the official list of the U.K. listing authority and to trading on the london stock.

USD1.250.000 9.375% Senior notes due 2014
USD750.000.000 9.375% Senior notes due 2019
The notes were sold in the United States to qualified institutional buyers under rule 144A of the US Securities Act of 1933, as amended, and outside the United States to non-US persons in reliance on regulations of the securities act.
